Dear Mrs. Dellapiane,

On behalf of our children, Christina and Ava and my wife Lisa, I would like to convey our sincere thanks and appreciation to you and your staff for the magnificent education our children have receieved at the Montessori school under your direction for the last 6 years. The Montessori experience for Christina and Ava not only enabled them to build a strong foundation for the educational skills they will require in math, writing, music, art and science but more importantly taught them how to be good citizens, how to think independently, and how to have respect for authority, their elders, peers and country. It is evident by the way that our children speak about their teachers and friends at Montessori that it is a place where they felt comfortable and loved. As parents, we could not have asked for more.

Please know that the mere mention of the Montessori School will always have a special place in our hearts as well as the hearts of our girls. The names Mrs. Dellapiane, Ms. Dogus, Ms. Connelly, have been part of our household for the last six years now and we will sincerely miss you all. I am sure the girls will insist on visiting you from time to time.

May God Bless you and your staff with the strength to continue your good works at Montessori and may He continue to guide you in the future with good health, success, and happiness always.

With love and sincere appreciation,

Mr. William Dean Callas

Exceptional in so many levels on how as a community the school continues grow strong. The admission's process follows all Ivy League guidelines including admission's documentation, a student classroom visit and parents' interview to be reviewed by the admission's committee. Parents' approve this process. Excellence throughout the academic curriculum, student body and elite faculty. As an IB candidate school the school continues it's journey towards high level academic Global recognition. Bravo, I am proud to have been a student that graduated the school.

I have gone to this school and it help boost my learning a great amount. I was there young and it truly improved the way I learn today. I have excellent critical thinking skills which I developed at this school. I have great memories from there and it truly is an amazing place. From what I recall, everyday during recess, when the weather was nice, we went to the local park which is less than a block away. It was nice to not spend all day in a school building. I truly recommend this school to any parent looking for their child to be a good kid with great academic skills.

The Maria Montessori Academy was an absolutely wonderful experience for my two girls. My oldest attended the school for 5 years and my youngest for 3. The education they received during their time there was exceptional and superior. Unfortunately, we moved from the area last year but I am so grateful they had such a strong start.

I think the truly special thing about the school is the kindness and compassion that is demonstrated in every aspect of the school day. Older children help younger children, instilling a sense of responsibility and ownership from early on. Appreciation and respect for one another and for the world around them..... these are all things that are just as important to the school as the academic curriculum. In the world we live in today it is really nice to see a school leading by example, with students that are intelligent, self confident, kind, compassionate, empathetic and loving; true leaders of our future. All of this I attribute to Mrs. Dellepiane, the head of the school, and the amazing teachers who work there. I am so thankful to them for giving my daughters such a nurturing, positive foundation to grow from. Life lessons that will be a part of them always.

I am a alumnus of this magnificent school and currently a freshman Pre-Med student at college. I owe this school who I am today as student and as a human being. All my teachers taught me that being kind and compassionate were essential attributes in life. I became a critical thinker and problem solver through out the 9 years I attended The Maria Montessori Academy but most importantly, I will always consider myself a Montessori child. Forever grateful.

5 years ago, my wife and I were concerned about our 5 year old son’s learning and development. In January 2013, after he had just turned 5, we decided to pull him out of the pre-k class he had been attending and enroll him at The Maria Montessori Academy. It was one of the Top 3 decisions we have made as parents so far.

Under Mrs. Dellepiane and her team of wonderful and caring teachers, his learning trajectory immediately accelerated. Within weeks of starting at the school, he was making strides and tangible progress in his reading, vocabulary, math and, seemingly, every other subject he encountered. The progress he made was beyond our expectations. We were amazed and grateful then, and we still are today.

Our son is now 10 and in 4th grade at the Maria Montessori Academy and our daughter is 7 and in 1st grade. Our daughter started at the school when she was almost 3 years old and her academic development has outpaced our son’s to the point that I feel truly guilty about the 3 years (2, 3 and 4 years old) that we did not have him enrolled at Children’s Home. I am a product of public schools and felt that “public schools worked for me so they will work for my kids.” However, this school has changed my mind. The teaching/learning method is different at MMA. The teachers treat every student as an individual. Each child has specific needs, strengths and areas to improve and the teachers understand this concept. Expectations are very high, character and values are built and responsibility is given at a young age but the students are encouraged with positive reinforcement every step of the way.

Based on our family’s experience, I cannot recommend this wonderful school enough. The MMA team has had an immensely positive impact on our family and helped us to raise kind, compassionate children who have a love of learning that will , hopefully, last throughout their lives.

We discovered the Children's Home Montessori School / Maria Montessori Academy through a recommendation from a family friend. We toured the school in early 2016 and from the beginning we have felt welcomed into the diverse learning community by Mrs. Dellepiane, the Head of School, the entire staff and the parents. During our school tour, student "ambassadors" who were a year or two older than our son welcomed our 5-year old son at the door and served as a positive role model "tour guide" during our son's visit at the school. Our son attended the Summer Science Explorations Montessori Camp during the summer of 2016 prior to the 2016-2017 school year and our family was received with a warm welcome each day and night at the door by one of the teachers or staff. We observed our son at home demonstrating what was learned during the summer camp in terms of both "knowledge" learning and positive habits such as listening skills. It was enjoyable to hear our son singing multiple songs at home that were learned at school for the purpose of learning, such as the "Presidents" song where the students are taught all 44 U.S. President names. The summer camp offered violin lessons and it is fortunate to have such options available to expose children to arts.  The Head of School is extremely passionate about the students, that passion carries over into the entire staff and the school really demonstrates a desire to create independent thinkers, good listeners, motivated learners and children who are kind and respectful to others able to work through conflict and striking the right balance between learning and just letting kids be kids. It is difficult to strike the right balance between a strong academics focus and crafting responsible citizens, but from what we have observed so far, the school is on the right track. At various family/student/teacher events, the affection the students had for the teachers was evident in the students seeking out the teachers upon greeting and giving a friendly hug that only occurs in a true friendship. Our son has felt valued as a part of the community, we are very fortunate to be a part of this community and we look forward to the upcoming school year.
